Restorative Yoga, true to it's name, is meant to help one heal, rejuvenate, and destress.

Though often times blissful, this practice sometimes does lead to a catharsis or mental/emotional breakthrough, as we really work to open the chest, shoulders, and hips, and learn to sit with ourselves, our thoughts, and our breath.

Restorative yoga is often described as a more advanced practice, not because it is physically gruelly by any stretch of the imagination, rather it is tremendously relaxing, but it is advanced in that through the relaxation we must learn to face what we may have been avoiding, confront our fears, create space for growth, and learn healthier ways to deal with the stress in our lives.

The majority of the poses are held for quite a while, but you'll often times be bolstered and supported so that you can safely and comfortably fully release into the pose.

In our busy world we don't often take time for ourselves, to slow down, reflect, and take care of ourselves holistically.  Restorative yoga helps to bring one's life more into balance.
